From a modest beginning in 1994 manufacturing kerosene wick stoves and a turnover of 30 lakhs to an organization with a current turnover of 5400 Million INR, Stovekraft Private Limited (SKPL) is an enviable entrepreneurial venture by Mr. Rajendra J Gandhi. We are strongly positioned to become the largest kitchen appliances company in the country by 2016, having one of the widest product portfolios with very high brand value and recall among consumers.

 

Today, the organization has a core team of distinguished experienced professionals spearheaded by Mr. Gandhi, the Managing Director. The group is a dominant player in the kitchen appliances industry and has been making rapid progress over the past several years, posting a growth rate well above the industry average.

 

We set up the country’s largest LPG manufacturing plant in 1997. The company was incorporated in 1999 and entered into tie-ups with leading brands such as Inalsa and Markex for OEM manufacturers.

 

Since the founding of our company, we have been recognizing the needs of the consumer, always making the “customer” central to our activities. With this focus, we have created two popular brands in the market, namely Pigeon and Gilma, in 2001. Pigeon being a value-for-money brand is immensely successful with a wide range of product portfolio. Gilma branded products are targeted at the premium segment, a category that’s reporting strong growth as consumers look to add a splash of glamour to their kitchens.

Starting 2006, we have tied up with various petroleum marketing companies such as Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation for the supply of co-branded Gilma and Pigeon LPG Stoves for distribution across India. We have successfully executed bulk orders to supply LPG stoves to the Tamil Nadu as well as the Pondicherry Government. 

 

Through our relentless efforts, we have carved a niche for ourselves in the overseas market as well, garnering substantial export orders from Middle East, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Sri Lanka and Fiji. In 2009, Stovekraft forged a joint venture with Italian modular kitchen maker, Spagnol Cucine, to front-end super premium futuristic kitchens in a price band ranging between 4 lakhs to 25 lakhs in Bengaluru.

 

Attracted by the phenomenal growth of our company, Sequoia Capital (leading global blue-chip venture capital firm) became a minority investor in 2010 and has since been increasing its investment in the Indian consumption story.

 

Set up in 2010, the company’s state-of-the-art facility spread over 10 acres in south Bengaluru has propelled growth further. It is the largest installed manufacturing facility for kitchen appliances in India.
